Launch of Shamrock Bowl XXIV- American Football comes to Tallaght Stadium
The Shamrock Bowl is the Championship game of the Irish American Football League (IAFL). Shamrock Bowl XXIV is taking place at Tallaght Stadium on Saturday 7th August, 2010, kick-off 2pm. The Final will be contested by the University of Limerick Vikings and the Dublin Rebels
Shamrock Bowl XXIV is being run as a family oriented event aimed at people who may never have attended a live game before. Spectators will be able to experience the unique atmosphere of a major American football game – watching on television does not compare with seeing the athleticism of this sport at first hand. The event will also feature live match commentary, a marching band (Tallaght Youth Band) and a demonstration from kids participating in the flag football schools programme.
At the launch, Deputy Mayor Cathal King, South Dublin County Council said “I’m delighted to be able to welcome American Football to Tallaght Stadium, it is great to have the opportunity to go along and see organised competitive American Football, for what should prove to be a great day ”
