Leo Swan Memorial Lecture 2009
South Dublin Libraries is delighted to present the Eighth Annual Leo Swan Memorial Lecture at the County Library, Tallaght on Wednesday 28th October at 8:00 p.m.
Leo Swan died in 2001 and is fondly remembered in the Tallaght area as an encouraging teacher and former Principal of Our Lady of Loreto Primary School. He was also a founder member of Tallaght Historical Society. While teaching he was also involved in archaeological investigations and in lecturing on archaeology. He was a pioneer of archaeological investigation using aerial photography. From its beginning in 1995, Leo was a great friend of the County Library and we thought it was a fitting tribute to hold an annual lecture here in his memory.
This year's lecture will be given by Dr. Matthew Stout of St. Patrick's College, Drumcondra and is entitled 'Mapping Archaeology'. All are welcome!
