PRESS RELEASE ISSUED: 22nd JUNE 2009

The Development through Soccer Skills Programme has run over 6 months, with an experienced Soccer Coach Alan McCann (Maxi), with the support of the Sports and Recreation Officer, Community Services Department, South Dublin County Council. The grand finale is taking place in the Tallaght Stadium on the 26th of June 2009 at 12.30pm until 3.00pm. This event will consist of 15 different schools in the South Dublin region taking part. Social development through practice of Soccer Skills was the main objective of the programme, which was taught through a guided discovery method. This method is used for ones learning and discovering by themselves with the interaction of an experienced teacher. Mayor Mick Duff, Councillors, members of the Shamrock Rovers staff, parents and teachers will be present on the day.
