Closing Ceremony for Bealtaine Festival 2017 - Wednesday 31st May
On Wednesday 31 May at 4.00 pm in Tallaght Stadium, Mayor Guss O’Connell will close the Bealtaine Festival, the festival celebrating Creativity in Older Age. Bealtaine is co-ordinated by Age and Opportunity, the national organisation working to promote greater participation by older people in society. The name "Bealtaine" comes from the ancient Celtic festival of that name celebrating springtime, freshness and renewal. There was over 100 events organised for the month and for the majority of the events we had full participation.
The competition entitled “Your Childhood Memories the origins of our Creativity” was organised by the Social Inclusion Unit and allowed residents of the county to tell us about a moment in their childhood when something wonderful happened. This was a huge success with entries from all over the county. The awards will be presented at the closing Ceremony.
