Mayor’s Reception for Greenhills Boys Football Club- Tuesday 11th April 2017@ 6pm

 

Mayor Guss O’Connell welcomed fellow Councillors, Chairman Robert Macken, Committee Members, players and officials of Greenhills Boys Football Clubto a special event to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Greenhills Boys Football Club at County Hall, Tallaght.

 

Mayor O’Connell was delighted to host the event to recognise the outstanding contribution the club and team have made to the local community in Greenhills over the years.

Speaking at the event Mayor O’Connell commented “This evening is about recognising the time, dedication and sacrifice that the players, managers and officials make, in order for a club like Greenhills Boys to be in existence for 50 years”.

The Mayor mentioned the importance of Children coming together in a safe environment and being introduced to the basic skills by dedicated parents and mentors and where great friends are made on the pitch and on the side-lines that last a life time.

The evening was about celebrating everybody in the club who has made a contribution over the last 50 years: themanagers, mentors, drivers, jersey washers, dedicated families, committee members, fund raisers and sponsors who all have contributed so much over the last 5 decades to make Greenhills Boys Football Club what it is today.      

 

South Dublin County Council values the great contribution that Sports and Recreation bring to our communities and are very proud of Greenhills Boy’s achievements. The council works in partnership with clubs to provide the facilities needed to support this great work.
