Community Initiative Fund 2016

Following on from it’s first successful year in 2015, South Dublin County Council has launched it’s second Community Initiative Fund, with the fund increased in 2016 to a value of €250,000.

In early 2016 South Dublin County Council invited Community Organisations to apply for funding support which is not available from other resources under the Community Initiative Fund. The fund was designed to provide an opportunity for Organisations to access funds for projects providing significant community development, social inclusion and/or cultural / heritage enhancement.

Mayor Guss O’Connell met the successful groups in County Hall on Thursday 22nd September and congratulated each group and thanked them for the work in making South Dublin County a better place.   The Mayor acknowledged the partnership between   the elected members, council staff and local community groups which resulted in new and innovative projects and existing groups being supported.

The following groups were approved for funding:

CoderDojo Quarryvale

Clondalkin Equine Club

Irish Red Cross - Tallaght Unit
