Mayor Sarah Holland will open South Dublin ‘Lets Go Mental’ Event on Thursday 8th October 2015 in Tallaght Stadium.

Comhairle na nÓg are child and youth councils in the 31 Local Authorities of the country which give children and young people the opportunity to be involved in the development of local services and policies.
This year Comhairle na nÓg and South Dublin County Council are working in partnership with Jigsaw Clondalkin and Jigsaw Tallaght to organise a
‘Lets Go Mental’ Event:
This is an event for young people to promote positive mental health through music, sport and the arts based around the ‘Five A Day’ – Connect, Be Aware, Get Moving, Give and Get Involved…
Let’s Go Mental is a nationwide campaign to promote positive mental health in young people. This campaign has been developed by teenagers for teenagers and involves a series of 31 events in every local authority area to promote positive mental health through music, sport, the arts and other fun activities. The Let’s Go Mental events are being organised and run by the 31 Comhairle na nÓg and will take place all over the country from May to October 2015.
Co-ordinated by South Dublin Sports Office, Leinster Rugby and the FAI will encourage young people to ‘Get Moving’ on the day, there will be Yoga and Mindfulness to help Be Aware’, ‘connecting’ through art and local organisations, An opportunity to Give and a number of organisations encouraging people to ‘Get Involved’.
Lunch will be provided, with entertainment from local bands!!
Comhairle na nÓg AGM will also take place during the event offering young people an opportunity to get involved in local policy, and tell us what young people would like us to work on during 2016!!
This event is open to 12 to 18 year olds living or attending school in the County. Pre-registration is essential. Free admission!!
