End of Public Consultation for the South Dublin County Council Draft Development Plan 2016-2022
On Thursday 24th September 2015, the public consultation for the South Dublin County Council Draft Development Plan 2016–2022 will come to an end.
The Draft County Development Plan 2016-2022 presents a vision for the future development of South Dublin County. The County is in a strong position to increase its share of growth in the Dublin Region, to encourage the development of sustainable communities, to ensure a high quality environment and to make South Dublin County the best possible place in which to live, work and do business. At the heart of the Draft Development Plan are issues such as: Quality of Life, Prosperity, Sustainability, Health & Wellbeing, Social Inclusion and Climate Change.
The Draft County Development Plan 2016-2022 is a full review of the previous County Development Plan. The Draft Plan consists of streamlined policies and objectives across a range of topics such as housing, employment and transport, and includes new sections on Green Infrastructure and Energy. The Draft Plan also includes a comprehensive ‘Core Strategy’ for the future development of South Dublin in line with relevant national and regional policy and guidance.
At the launch of the Draft Plan in July, Mayor Sarah Holland stated that the County Development Plan ‘represents an opportunity for all citizens, businesses, community groups and stakeholders across South Dublin County to have their say on the future growth of our County. I encourage all interested parties and the public to engage in this public consultation process, in particular through our dedicated website: www.southdublindevplan.ie, where a range of information is available’.
Closing Date for Submissions
The deadline for submissions from the general public on the Draft Plan ends on Thursday 24th September 2015. The Draft County Development Plan and all accompanying maps and documents are available online at www.southdublindevplan.ie and for inspection (excluding bank holidays) at County Hall, Tallaght, Civic Offices, Clondalkin and at all branches of South Dublin County libraries.
