Go for Life Games 2015
South Dublin County participated in the Go For Life Games on Saturday 6 June in Dublin City University. This year the county entered two teams into the National Final, the County Team and the Átha Cliath team. The team members (men and women) were representatives from Active Retired Groups in the county including;
Dominics Community Centre, Tallaght;
Belgard Silver Surfers, Tallaght;
Clondalkin Active Retired;
Kingswood Community Centre, Tallaght
As part of the Bealtaine Festival (celebrating creativity as we age) games were held in Tallaght Leisure Centre to select teams for National Finals Day.
South Dublin was extremely successful at the games with the County Team winning the best overall County Team and the Átha Cliath Team winning the Scidils Awards. Frank Cousins from Clondalkin Active Retired won “The Spirit of the Games” award.
