Ballyroan Boys National School, Rathfarnham raises their Green Schools Flag for Water

28th November 2014

The Mayor Fintan Warfield congratulated Ballyroan Boys National School on receiving their Green Schools Flag for water as part of the Green Schools Programme supported by South Dublin County Council and An Taisce.

The Mayor, said “Taking part in the Green Schools Programme involves a lot of hard work, but it is so worthwhile and you should all be very proud of what you have done to help conserve water”

Ballyroan BNS reduced its water usage over the course of the two years. Their Water Action Day turned into an action week. The students made fantastic 3D models of the titanic. They wrote a brilliant song which was very catchy and helped to get the message across.

The Green Schools committee presented the Mayor with a Green Schools t-shirt before the students from 2nd class gave a fabulous outdoor flag display to music which was so enjoyable and made it a great celebration. The committee helped the Mayor to raise their 3rd green flag to roars of excitement.

In 2013/2014 there were 5 schools in South Dublin County who received their 3rd green flag for water conservation.
