Willsbrook Road Cycle Scheme Phase 2
South Dublin County Council intends to commence construction of Willsbrook Road Cycle Scheme Phase 2 beginning Monday the 10th of November 2014. The overall project duration is 5months. This project will involve the following:
- The installation of a shared cycle and footway on north side of Willsbrook Road between Castle Road Roundabout and Elmbrook Roundabout,
- Installation of a shared cycle and footway on eastern side of Elmbrook Avenue between Willbrook Road / Elmrook Avenue Roundabout and Esker Lane,
- Junction upgrades along Willsbrook Road between Castle Road Roundabout and Elmbrook Roundabout,
- Installation of a table top ramp,
- Upgrade of the Elmbrook Roundabout which will include installation of a zebra crossing with flashing lights on each arm.
During the construction there will be temporary traffic management in place which will alter during the various phases of the works. Arrangements have been put in place to protect pedestrians, cyclists and all other road users during the course of the works. Local access will be maintained at all times during the duration of the works in order to minimize impact on surrounding residents, schools and businesses. Works will be timed to facilitate am and pm peak traffic. Please note that there will be a full time supervising Resident Engineer on site acting for South Dublin County Council.
