South Dublin County Council / ITT Education Bursary
South Dublin County Council entered into an agreement in 2006, with the Institute of Technology Tallaght to fund an Access to Third Level Scholarship Programme. The Programme was developed to encourage students from areas of the County to progress to third level education, by funding any additional expenses they may incur.
The Scholarship Programme allows for awards to be made to four first year students and four second year students who have successfully completed their first year studies, amounting to €2,500 each for the academic year 2014/2015. Payment in the second year is subject to successful completion of the first year and progression to the second year.
Students must be registered on a Level 6, 7 or 8 Programme in the Institute of Technology in Tallaght. They must also have attended one of the following schools for at least two years prior to the Leaving Certificate exam:
- Mount Seskin Community College
- Killinarden Community School
- St. Aidan’s Community School, Brookfield
- Collinstown Park Community College
- Deansrath Community College
- St. Kevin’s Community College, Fonthill Road
The Scholarships will be awarded to the two students from each area that achieve the highest points in the Leaving Certificate examination in the year in question, or in the case of those students from the schools listed above undertaking Fáilte Ireland programmes of study, alternative criteria may be used for selection purposes at the discretion of the Institute.
