President Michael D.Higgins will officially open the new library at the Holy Rosary Primary School Oldcourt Avenue,  Firhouse on Thursday 1st March at 11.30 a.m.

While the aim of the event is to officially open the school’s new library, which is taking place as part of the school’s 25th Anniversary celebrations, it is also to celebrate Book Week- the theme of which is ‘My Favourite Book’. During the week the school will have visits from Ryan Tubridy of RTE and various authors, all of whom will discuss or read from a favourite book from childhood.

The new library has been set up by the parents of the school children and their teachers working together with the assistance of South Dublin County Libraries. It will be staffed by parent volunteers and it is anticipated that the library will become a focal point for encouraging a love of reading amongst the school’s children.

Entertainment on the day will be provided by Members of the Garda Band and the Holy Rosary Primary School Choir.
