Carbon/Social Credit Scheme Workshop
South Dublin County Council is holding a workshop on the introduction of a Carbon/Social Credit Scheme on Friday 18th February, 2011 in Tallaght Stadium at 11am – 1pm
South Dublin County Council is working with the Dublin Regional Authority to introduce a pilot ‘Carbon/Social Reward Scheme’, which will
- Acknowledge and reward positive community and public actions
- Incentivise spending of rewards/credits on local produce in local retail units and on local services
- Sustain eco-based/locally sourced goods and services
Cllr Eamon Maloney, Mayor South Dublin County Council said “This is an innovative and fresh approach to building sustainability and possibly employment in South Dublin County. This project carried out in partnership with the Dublin Regional Authority could make a positive difference to both the environment and economy in this County. I am very happy to support this initiative”
