Its T-Factor time again as talented Travellers from South Dublin, Louth and Kilkenny take to the stage at the Civic Theatre, Tallaght to showcase the vibrancy of Traveller culture through music and dance.

Now in its second year, this Traveller talent show has proven to be massively popular with audiences on its first run in 2009.  This year we have a larger number of entrants hoping to wow the judges and to win the main prize of €200.

The judges are musician and composer, Michael Fleming, Artistic Director of Tallaght Community Arts Tony Fegan, Anne Garvey, Community Facilitator , Doreen Carpenter, Clondalkin Traveller Development Group and last years winner Elizabeth Doran.

The concept is the brainchild of Melissa Connors a member of the Travelling Community in Tallaght. Melissa, who will MC the event is herself a singer with the Choir of the Traveller Parish. Special guests on the evening include Elizabeth Doran and Selina O’Leary as seen on RTE. All proceeds will go to the National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght.

The event takes place as part of Social Inclusion Week the purpose of which is to highlight and promote the positive work of South Dublin County Council and the member agencies of South Dublin County Development Board to reduce social exclusion and poverty and to provide an understanding of inclusion and diversity.
