New Bursary Award Announced for 2010: The Annette Halpin Memorial Award For Young Musicians
South Dublin County Council is delighted to announce a new award in memory of Annette Halpin, a singer / songwriter from Tallaght, widely known for her role in community activism and community development. Annette sadly passed away in March 2009 following a short illness. Her family and friends wanted to celebrate Annette’s legacy and her interest in supporting young musicians in South Dublin County by providing an award to towards their professional development, which might include master classes, purchase of instruments, recording, or travel. A benefit concert Remembering Annette was held in the Civic Theatre in March 2010, raising €3000 to fund this award. Applications are now invited for this award.
