Songwriting Competition for young people -win 2 days in professional recording studio!
For young people who like to make a little noise of their own, Contact Studio is running a competition during March looking for the finest songwriters South Dublin County has to offer.
The competition is divided into two age groups - those aged between 13 and 18, and those aged between 19 and 25.The competition is open to individual singers and songwriters as well as groups.
The winners will receive two days in CONTACT Studio working with an experienced engineer to create a demo of their own material.
It’s easy to enter, just send an MP3 of you performing your song to sdcc.contactstudio@gmail.com.All submissions must satisfy the following conditions:
They must be an original song
They must be in MP3 format
The composer must be between the ages of 13 and 25 and have a profile on NOISE.
They must be received by 15th April 2010.
This competition is part of the NOISE South Dublin online project and networked NOISE Community of creative young people in South Dublin. www.noisesouthdublin.com
CONTACT Studio is a flexible, affordable space for artists, youth groups and community groups in South Dublin county to record and archive their work.
Based in RUA RED Arts Centre, Tallaght, the studio is a mobile facility which can operate from different buildings around the county.It provides opportunities for people with an interest in music to spend time in a professional recording environment, taking part in workshops on song writing, music production, music technology etc.
Individuals and bands can also avail of the facility; it is ideally suited to musicians that are in the early stages of their recording career.
