Official Lighting of the ?Christmas Tree of Hope?, Chamber Square, County Hall, Tallaght 3pm-5pm Saturday 5th December.

Mayor Mick Duff on behalf of the Members of South Dublin County Council will officially switch on the Christmas Tree Lights in Chamber Square, County Hall, Tallaght on Saturday 5th December at 4.30pm. It is expected that this event will attract residents and families in the County and bring fun and joy to all in the run-up to the festive season.

The theme selected by Mayor Mick Duff for this year?s ceremony is the ?Christmas Tree of Hope? and is particularly aimed at children, focusing on the hope and joy of Christmastime. Local choirs will perform and provide musical entertainment along with Captain Ho Ho?s magic show, face painters, stilt walkers and art workshops.

Mayor Mick Duff said this event is aimed at bringing all members of the community together in the new civic space created by the County Library, the County Arts Centre and Civic Theatre and added ?I encourage people to take the opportunity to come along on the day with their families and friends and to be part of the fun and celebrations of Christmas in South Dublin County?.
