Launch of Audio Books by South Dublin Libraries

South Dublin Libraries are delighted to announce the publication of 8 local interest books in formats accessible to all.? The series includes short stories, poetry and histories relevant to the South Dublin area.

As well as the original print and E-book publications, the series is now available in the following audio formats ?

CD audio

Downloadable audio from the South Dublin Libraries website

DAISY audio (specifically for visually impaired readers)

This exciting new development will mean that readers will be able to listen to their favourite local studies publications in a way which suits them ?, downloaded to their MP3 player, on CD or as a DAISY book.? DAISY is a format which particularly suits visually impaired readers.? It allows the reader direct access to chapters, page numbers and other parts of the book making it easier to navigate.

3. Rathfarnham Roads by Patrick Healy

4. Glenasmole Roads by Patrick Healy

5. The Battle of Jadotville by Michael Whelan

6. County Lines edited by Dermot Bolger

7. Caught in Amber edited by Eileen Casey

8. From Monastic Centre to Modern City ? Tallaght: a Guided Walk

Each title is beautifully read by Emer Horgan and Jonathan White who reads the male-written stories from ?County Lines and ?Caught in Amber.? Both narrators skilfully allow the reader full enjoyment of the audio experience.

Three of the titles have sold in excess of 3,000 copies in hardcopy.

The launch will take place in the County Library, Tallaght on Tuesday 10^th November at 7pm.? All are welcome to attend.
