This Hallowe’en Sunday 25th till Saturday the 1st of November, visit South Dublin County and experience lots of magical, spooky fun when the area comes alive for Hallowfest 2009. Supported by South Dublin County Tourism, South Dublin County Council, Dublin Tourism and local community groups and businesses. Hallowfest has proved hugely attractive to thousands of families from across the country.
On Sunday the 25th of October Tallaght will host the Hallowfest Family Fun Walk, Run or Cycle in aid of The Adelaide and Meath Hospital, Dublin incorporating the National Children’s Hospital. The Family Fun Run, Walk or Cycle commences from Tallaght Athletics Club and will be opened by the Mayor of South Dublin County Mick Duff. Admission is €10 per family. Wear your Halloween Costume!! Prizes for best dressed ‘Witch & Vampire’.
And don’t miss the spooky adventure on the 27th, 28th and 29th of October where families can participate in the Kippure Treasure Hunt and Spooky Walk to the Hell Fire Club in the Dublin Mountains. (Pre – booking is essential, contact us for maps and question sheets). Hell Fire Club Carpark will open from 10am – 4pm daily. Be sure to wrap up well, wear walking shoes and be prepared as you never know what you will discover……
Dare to enjoy a Hallowe’en Excursion from St Audeons to the Hell Fire Club with Hidden Dublin Walks on the 29th, 30th & 31st of October - the only haunted tour in Dublin associated with the Irish Paranormal Society. Take to the Dublin Mountains with Hilltop Treks on Friday the 30th of October for a Full Moon Family Walk starting at 7pm from Tibradden Carpark to Tibradden Mountain, through the Wicklow Way and back to Fairy House Mountain.
A magical afternoon of Hallowe’en fun in Tallaght on Saturday the 31st of October…..Storytelling, face painting, a puppet show and a magic show in County Library, Halloween Workshops in Rua Red, Face painting in Captain Americas and Storytelling on the Captain Americas Bus at Library Square. ‘The Big Scream’ at Library Square at 5:30pm with Mayor of South Dublin County Mick Duff – Wear your Hallowe’en Costume and bring your torch!!
A charity match and family fun day will take place at Tallaght Stadium on Sunday, November 1st. On the day, the stadium will open from 12noon to 6pm, an entrance fee will be charged, which will be donated to The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day for children and the highlight of the event will be a match between ‘Shamrock Rovers Legends’ and a host of celebrities. Admission is €10 for one adult, with one child free and €5 for any extra children. The event is a collaboration between Shamrock Rovers, An Garda Siochana and The National Children’s Hospital, Tallaght.
