Giovani Trapattoni visits Tallaght Stadium 25th September 2009

On Friday the 25th last, a very special visitor made an appearance at Tallaght Stadium. Irish soccer Manager Giovani Trapattoni fresh from announcing his squad to face Italy in just over a week?s time arrived shortly after 6pm at Whitestown Way.

Trapattoni was on hand to offer advice to over forty children who had taken part in the FAI summer schools soccer programmes. The 2009 National Irish Bank FAI Summer Soccer School programme kicked off in May and saw thousands of children from all over Ireland participating at over 290 camps nationwide. Now in their third year, the camps offer children from the ages of 7 to 15 a fun summer activity that encourages positive healthy living while focusing on participation rather than competition.

The lucky children in Tallaght Stadium on Friday had each won a place at the special Trapattoni coaching session and had the opportunity to get some expert advice from the Irish Manager but also from ten FAI development officers who were on hand for the afternoon.

All in all the evening was a great success and hopefully the start of many visits from Trap to Tallaght.
