Family Day - Cultural Quarter, Chamber Square, Tallaght, Sunday 19th July 2009

This year, for the first time, the Community Services Department of South Dublin County Councilhas organised a Family Day to be held in the new Cultural Quarter, Chamber Square, Tallaght, Dublin 24 ((adjacent to County Library, South Dublin County Council Headquarters and the Luas Terminus).Traditionally, the Family Day has been held in one of the Councils regional parks but this year we want to try something different.

It will be an exciting afternoon with plenty of entertainment available for children and young people, with face painting, bouncing castle, magic show and much more! There will be plenty to see and do for Mams and Dads also.

Rua Red (South Dublin Arts Centre) will open on the day, with art workshops, performances from the Tallaght Youth Theatre and a competition with prizes run by the Tallaght Youth Arts Forum. South Dublin County Councils multimedia exhibition centre, The Big Picture, will also be open on the day. Located beside The Square Luas stop, The Big Picture showcases the best of South Dublin County in an informative and entertaining way. There will be a number of activities taking place in the Big Picture to mark this years Family Day, or you can just chill out with a nice cup of coffee in the Interval (Civic Theatre restaurant) or in RED 24 (Caf in Rua Red)
